Shilpa and Arhant’s simple south Indian wedding at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly Virginia did not disappoint. Many of our South Asian brides truly want for their weddings to be outdoors and in the DMV area most often enough the deciding factor winds up to be our unpredictable weather in the area. Fortunately for these two mother nature cooperated and Westfields one of the most well versed venues in the South Asian market in our local area is a venue capable of a great Plan A for the outdoor wedding but also a beatiful Plan B should things have to be moved inside due to inclement weather. The light that streams over the terrace at Westfield’s is simply stunning and based on the talent hired for decor and the vision that is pulled through you can pull off the simplest yet elegant affair as well as the most grandest gargantuous gala.

For those familiar to us know that I am super proud to be married into the chaos that makes our South Asian events so amazing; the idea of two families marrying two families rather than two people marrying two people. There’s this part of me that truly believes that we married two of the most amazing cultures together in our personal union. Our story goes pretty deep and while we would have to have a few dinners to even scratch the surface of how we began our journey to get where we are today, one thing I will say is that it certainly was not an accident – I look back on all the events we’ve done over the last 15+ years as a husband and wife photographic team and each one causes me to reflect on the blessings we are all given in our lives reminding me to cherish them all, everyday.

Yesterday I shared Birju’s baraat as a reel — the color, the music, the movement.
