The phone rings and it’s Danny’s mom on the other line with the most exciting and greatest news, Danny is engaged! We could not have been anymore excited for him! It felt like just last week we had sat down with her daughter Shelly and her now son-in-law Simon to go over the details and plans for their wedding to take place at the Gaylord National, but it had actually been a few years earlier! Nothing says love more then a client who entrusts us with not only one, but two or three of their children’s weddings.

When I sat down with Danny and his fiancé Priyanka it was without a doubt that these two were the perfect match. Both soft and quiet in nature, very tentative to one another and obviously eager to be married letting their families help every step of the way. You could see how important it was to Danny that Priyanka be comfortable with the people who helped bring their event together just as much as he and his family were confident in their abilities as professionals. With the help of the talented Prabha Bhambri and the guidance of professional planner Neeva of Project Bride DC they put together the first ever Indian wedding at the new MGM National Harbor alongside MGM’s Catering and Conference Services Manager, Susan Schall, who is a veteran professional herself with South Asian events.

The decor screamed chic elegance from Priyanka’s mandap concept to the layout of the ballroom and extensive bar that spanned the entire wall side, complete with chandeliers. Priyanka’s brother’s speech was among one of the funniest with Danny’s sister equally representing the groom’s side, Shelly just as relaxed yet poised as ever talked about her own cherished times growing up the big sister to Danny. All their events were that filled with food, family and friends focused on simply making every single guest a part of everything taking place, including their event professionals, there’s a lot to be said in bringing all of that together over many different events consistently!
