Venue Location: Embassy Suites by Hilton, 6711 Democracy Blvd, Bethesda, Maryland 20817

Preeti is the sister of one of our forever brides from 2007. So, to say that we have a pretty good longstanding relationship with this family would be an understatement. When Shipra, her sister, first contacted us regarding availability, we were overwhelmed with heartfelt love as she said she could not imagine anyone else photographing her sister’s wedding celebrations. She shared with us that Ravi’s mom had some health concerns, and they were moving quickly through the planning phase to allow her to be a part of it. Conveying that this was extremely important to all of them. We were honored and gladly assumed the role of photographers and captured their event alongside many old-time friends to document the love that Preeti and Ravi found in one another. Song, dance, and celebration were everything this intimate affair was made of.

As the night ended on a song note, we left excited about their tented outdoor wedding at the club!

Living between two worlds isn’t easy — even after 30 years of it.

One thing I’ve learned being married into an Indian family is this:

Sometimes life turns you into something you never planned to be…

For me, it was the outsider who somehow became the interpreter — the person South Asian brides turn to when they’re carrying more than they can say out loud.

It’s taken nearly 30 years inside this culture, loving it, learning it, laughing with it, and growing through it…
but I wouldn’t trade a single lesson.
