In a given year we photograph a limited number of Telugu weddings, while yes, these are Indian weddings too, most of our weddings tend to be Punjabi or Gujarati, so mostly North Indian versus South Indian. I tend to think most the reasoning for that is that North Indian’s tend to plan far more in advance leaving us with limited availability for other weddings given we only shoot 25 a year, soon to be 20! Our events tend to be 3-5 days in duration so for most photographers that shoot standard American weddings we cover 2-5 times the amount of events and with five kids it makes for a pretty crazy busy lifestyle – that we have fallen in love with!

Krutika and Kartheek’s wedding (Venue: National Conference Center) was a blend of both ends of India as Krutika’s family is North Indian and Kartheek’s South Indian. Food was amazing across the board as there was a taste of everything for everyone. However, between meals there was not a moment to spare! Telugu ceremonies have an extra element of fun, games and many added ceremonial element/exchanges compared to your typical Hindu Punjabi ceremonies, mostly because they tend to be shortened quite a bit amongst the American raised Hindu’s here in the United States simply due to the time constraints our clients are under to get both ceremony and reception (Venue: Hyatt Reston Town Center) executed on the same day.
