Most of our South Asian weddings start super early in the morning. Still, thankfully not this one 🙂 Lauren and Manoj forwent the typical 3AM-5AM rise time and kept it more reasonable to the noonish hour, which gave everyone a little time to rest up post-sangeet so that they could party hard on this big day!
Again, with the aid of Rachael Keyl and her team with A Fine Fete, they ran the day as the festivities kicked off, starting with the getting-ready portion in preparation for their Hindu ceremony and continuing through their late-night reception.
It goes without saying in some aspects that we truly feel like family in our South Asian fused affairs having been married into not only the familiarness of the norms of it as people weigh in on what life will be like for us, but the blending of two cultures as some of our family members are experiencing the culture for the first time in so many ways. I love that part of it all for so many reasons. Still, the most important is that sometimes that little bit of knowledge can broaden the minds and views of so many as to what they thought and what they now think walking away from such a beautiful experience that not many get to be part of. For this, I thank you, Lauren, for rooting for us, for putting us in your corner on the wedding day, and for allowing us to be part of it in every way. And it would truly be wrong of me not to additionally thank Mrs. Bhutani herself for her time, many phone calls, giving me her trust, and asking all the right questions on her quest to deliver the most exquisite event for Lauren and Manoj for everyone the experience was not only priceless but memorable.
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Bhutani family as life evolves for them all, bringing them closer and closer throughout the year—cheers!
