Lauren and Manoj’s Sangeet at the Decatur House in Washington, DC
Venue Location: Decatur House, 748 Jackson Pl NW, Washington, DC 20006
This week has been the week of Lauren and Manoj for us! Seeing them in all of their stress running into their city session and then moving into their sangeet was day and night as Lauren wore her lehenga well, it was on this evening that I really saw the two of them relaxed and wanting to meet, greet and dance with each person who made it out to welcome them to their wedding weekend as they were about to start their lives together as husband and wife – given that they are New Yorkers when COVID hit Lauren and Manoj moved in with Manoj’s parents during the course of all the craziness for the security and safety of being with family during the trying time for NYC so to say that she is family is an understatement because by this time Manoj’s entire family had already seen and welcomed her into the family as a daughter.
When walking into the Decatur House, you can tell how much love and effort Manoj’s mom put into this evening to make it feel welcoming and honor both parts of who they are inside and out.
Beauty was present in every corner of the room. Rachael Keyl with A Fine Fete and her team managed logistics, and Edge Florals rocked out the decor. It was absolutely elegantly executed for a night of song and dance among family and friends.
The only bummer was that the President of the United States, unfortunately, wasn’t home to answer the door, so we instead had to leave a message with security before we left, compliments of Lauren and Manoj 🙂
