Pre-Wedding Celebrations | Shruthi and Arjun’s South Asian Wedding | Amelia Island, Florida | Destination Wedding Photographer

A South Asian wedding to remember on Amelia Island in sunny Florida! Upon arrival all guests and vendors were swabbed at the door as a precautionary measure allowing the weekend to be filled with laughter and relaxed masks measures to some extent. For the first time in what felt like forever it was wonderful to be part of a slow return to normalcy in seeing the smiling faces which till recently have been hidden behind masks in one form or another. 
As a wedding photographer specializing in mostly South Asian weddings and culturally diverse affairs in general part of what forces you to shoot is the expressions and the laughter that fills the air. Shruthi and Arjun’s welcome was just that, it felt as if they themselves brought the warmth of the sun with them to Florida as they proceeded through their ceremonial processes leading up to the wedding ceremony. Simultaneously their haldi took place followed by an evening quaint mehndi/sangeet. As you watch on and listen to the speeches being given by friends of the groom and friends of the brides it is very apparent the impact that they both have had on the world around them and their ability to be constants in everyones lives. The best part about covering prefunctions is being able to put together the relationships of those in attendance to the couple that is being celebrated. These events truly do allow families to better co-mingle and old acquaintances to become reacquainted and catch up on lost time. It’s always with a warm heart that as photographers we are vigilant and aware of this interaction when we photograph these events, it is the different between snaps/clicks, because as an artist you truly do become a visual story teller.
