Radhika and Gaurav’s Engagement Party | Hilton Washington Dulles Airport Hotel | North Indian Gujarati Wedding | Northern Virginia South Asian Wedding Photographers

While unfortunately we weren’t able to spend much time getting to know Radhika and Gaurav, it was Gaurav’s mom Rozy who reached out for coverage of their planned engagement party at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport Hotel within just a couple weeks of the party itself. What was supposed to be a quaint party outdoors at their private residence, due to the rain was quickly chased indoors due to the reminense of Hurricane Florence with everyone’s safety in mind! We couldn’t be happier for these two as their wedding is planned for August and is sure to be a show stopper I’m sure. Congratulations to both Gaurav and Radhika as you prepare to plan over the next year!

Living between two worlds isn’t easy — even after 30 years of it.

For me, it was the outsider who somehow became the interpreter — the person South Asian brides turn to when they’re carrying more than they can say out loud.

It’s taken nearly 30 years inside this culture, loving it, learning it, laughing with it, and growing through it…
but I wouldn’t trade a single lesson.
