Erika and Art: Epiphany Catholic Church in Georgetown & Henderson House Washington DC

Who can resist a man in uniform??? Especially one who has served our country on many tours and is an accomplished attorney too… melt your heart out ladies he’s now taken! Erika looked stunning as ever as she got ready at the Loews Hotel in Washington DC in preparation for her beautiful ceremony at the Epiphany Catholic Church in Georgetown followed by an intimate reception of close family and friends at the Henderson House in Washington DC.

Art had this vintage Mercedes that he brought out just in time to be their get-a-way car, but just as we were taking the full group shot the coach bus that they hired to transport their guests … ready …. backed up into it!!! My heart just about dropped as Art’s I am sure SANK. I have to admit that he took it in stride and pulled himself together not letting it ruin the joy of his wedding day, but I was right there feeling it for him. But hey other than that the night went on as planned and they still made their get-a-way in style!

Sometimes life turns you into something you never planned to be…

For me, it was the outsider who somehow became the interpreter — the person South Asian brides turn to when they’re carrying more than they can say out loud.

It’s taken nearly 30 years inside this culture, loving it, learning it, laughing with it, and growing through it…
but I wouldn’t trade a single lesson.
