Going back through years of galleries, you find things you forgot were even there. This one stopped me cold. That`s Radha, feeding me cake like I was one of her own kids at this wedding - she would not let me walk away without eating it. This is the same woman who used to send me home with fresh baked bread and chocolate chip cookies for my kids, they would refer to her as the "Chocolate Chip Auntie." We photographed both of her sons` weddings and more family celebrations than I can count. Her home always felt like ours the second we walked in.
Radha passed away, and finding this photo again just about broke my heart. Her smile, her hugs, her hot bread and warm cookies - we will never forget any of it. To her children, Shalini, Sharad and Nitin - we love you guys, and so much of her lives on in you. If you`re building a family of your own around your wedding day, come talk to us - drop a comment or send us a DM. These are the relationships and friendships we hope to build with every family that entrusts us to capture theirs.

Twenty years of shooting South Asian weddings taught us this: the good stuff never happens in just one place. While I caught the groom`s face going soft during the reading of his personally written vows, Srinu was catching the bride wiping her eyes with her mehndi-covered hand on the other side as she took in every word of his written vows to her. Neither of us could`ve gotten both. That`s the whole point of having two photographers — not more photos, but no gaps in the story. And most importantly both of us knowing where to stand enabling the other to have a clear shot.
These two moments happened seconds apart, feet away from each other, and if it had just been one of us there, one of them would be gone forever. That`s not something we`re willing to risk on your wedding day. Comment `TEAM` if you want to know how we cover ceremonies like this, or DM us to talk about your date.
That moment when the dance floor is so packed you can barely see where one family ends and another begins — that`s the good stuff. Some couples go big with a vidai and sparklers, some just want everyone dancing until the DJ turns the lights on. Both are beautiful, both are memories, and we`ve shot every version in between.
How do YOU picture your last dance of the night? Tell us in the comments, or DM us to start planning how you want the moments that`ll matter most to you captured in an authentic unobtrusive way. 💃🕺
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
This is the kind of moment that doesn`t age. Twenty years from now, this image won`t feel dated — the lehenga, the lighting, none of that is the point. It`s what`s written on her face right here: pure, forget-there-are-300-people-in-the-room joy as she allows him to lead their first dance as husband and wife. That`s the part that lasts.
We love catching these split seconds during grand entrances because they`re never posed, never repeated. Tell us in the comments — what was your entrance moment like? Or DM us if you`re planning yours and want it captured just like this.
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
B&W or color — which one stops your scroll? 🖤 This candid caught her mid-smile, hands still wrapped in fresh mehndi, FOB softly blurred in the background like he`s not even trying to steal focus (he will, later with his heartfelt speech). We strategically place a number of curated images in black and white for moments like this because it strips away the color and leaves just... her. The expression. The nerves and joy tangled together right before everything changes.
Here`s the thing about Indian weddings — you get multiple days to have it both ways. I personally think keeping your ceremony look classic and timeless, then let your sangeet or reception go as trendy as you want - you`ll never regret that choice. You don`t have to choose once. You get to choose again and again all weekend long. So tell us — team black & white, or team color? Drop your vote below, or DM us if you`re planning your own weekend of moments like this one.

What time is it? Party time! Tighten up that Windsor knot, thread the cufflinks, notch the belt, and lace up those freshly shined shoes 🖤⌚
Details like this watch are the quiet flex of the whole groom prep routine — the one thing he picked out himself while everyone else fussed over the sherwani. We love catching these small, sharp moments before the party ignites and before you know it this jacket and tie are history - literally, but don`t worry, The Regeti`s got you!
Getting married soon and want your groom`s details captured just as beautifully as the bride`s? Drop a comment or DM us to chat!
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
Quick myth-bust for you: does the groom always lead the pheras? Nope! Around that sacred fire, who walks first actually comes down to regional customs and family tradition — sometimes the groom leads the first few rounds, sometimes the bride does, and it can shift depending on whether the family follows Saptapadi (7 rounds) or Mangal Fera (4 rounds). Look closely next time and you`ll catch these little differences everywhere.
We could just post pretty photos with one throwaway line underneath, but that`s not really us — we`d rather you actually learn something about the traditions we get to witness. If that sounds like your kind of page, stick around and follow along. And if you`re planning your own ceremony and want a team that actually knows the difference between a Saptapadi and a Mangal Fera, send us a DM — we`d love to chat.
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
Am I the only one who watches for this? Every single bride has this one moment under the four pillars where she just... drifts. Eyes down, hands still, somewhere else entirely for a few seconds. I always wonder what`s running through her mind right there.
If you`re a bride who remembers that exact feeling and you`re willing to tell me what you were thinking, I would love to hear it. Drop it in the comments or DM me — we love to collect all these little stories.
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
That dhol beat hits and suddenly everyone`s grabbing hands, laughing, and moving before they even realize they`re dancing! This is exactly the energy that makes baraat moments so much fun to shoot - the joy is contagious and it spreads through the whole crowd in seconds. Shoutout to SJS Events for always making sure the party starts right on cue, because timing like that is everything on a wedding day.
Got a baraat or sangeet coming up? Drop a comment or DM us - we`d love to capture your crowd going wild too.
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
First looks: y`all know we have opinions on these! There`s something so special about that quiet moment before the chaos of the day begins — just the two of you, no crowd, no timeline pressure, just pure reaction shots that are pure gold for us to capture. But we get it, some couples love the idea of walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time in front of everyone — tradition and all those happy tears from family watching. Both have their magic, honestly.
So tell us — are you team first look, or are you saving that moment for the ceremony? Drop a comment below or DM us and let`s chat about what fits your day best!
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
Hours of sitting still while this artwork gets created — and that`s not even counting all the time spent planning and debating the design beforehand! There`s a whole ritual to henna: the patience, the skill of the artist, and that hope that it dries deep and dark because tradition says that means something good for the marriage.
I love catching these quiet in-between moments on getting-ready day — mehndi still fresh, your bridesmaids in search of the lotion in an effort to ease placing them on. Did you hide your fiancé`s name somewhere in your design? Tell me in the comments — I want to know if he spotted it right away! And if you`re planning a wedding and want a photographer who notices these little details too, send us a DM.
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
Everyone talks about the lehenga (rightfully so, it`s a whole production) but let`s talk about the sherwani for a second. The embroidery, the buttons, the fabric selection that has to complement the bride`s outfit without competing with it - that`s real thought and real time. Hanging it on a wall for a pretty shot doesn`t tell that story though. What tells the story is Dad`s hands doing up those buttons, that quiet minute before everything gets loud. We always look for it.

WHAT’S IN A PORTRAIT?
Somewhere along the way, the traditional bridal portraits have started disappearing.
Wedding photography became more candid, editorial and movement-driven—and we love all of that. But the portrait should never become collateral damage to a trend.
Long before photography, families commissioned painted portraits to preserve a person for generations. Photography changed who had access to that privilege, but not its purpose.
These are legacy photographs.
That’s why we believe every bride AND groom deserves dedicated portrait time on the wedding timeline—in addition to editorial images, candids, couples portraits and family formals.
There’s another reason we protect this time.
For a bride, everything is finally on. Hair. Makeup. Jewelry. The outfit chosen months ago. And before the doors open, the baraat begins and the beautiful chaos takes over, she gets a few minutes to slow down.
To breathe.
To take it in.
To simply be the bride.
Then we make the portrait.
Because 50 years from now, someone may hold this photograph and say:
“That was my mother.”
“That was my grandmother.”
“Look at her.”
Some photographs aren’t made for a feed.
They’re made for a family.
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
Sometimes being better at what you do means knowing what you shouldn’t be trying to do yourself.
That realization is why The Regeti’s and Diego Stuart Films now share an exclusive partnership for our wedding films.
When COVID stopped the world, it gave us time to think. We watched convenience become attractive and technology make it easier to believe one company could simply do everything.
But we kept coming back to one question:
Just because we can, does that mean we should?
Photography is our craft. We’ve spent more than two decades studying, practicing and refining it. Filmmaking deserves that same respect.
Over the years we’ve worked alongside many filmmakers. Some good. Some very good. And occasionally, someone whose talent, instincts and care make you realize: this is different.
That is what we found with Diego Stuart Films.
So we chose collaboration.
The Regeti’s remain photographers. Diego Stuart Films remains filmmakers.
Two businesses. Two specialized crafts. One team giving our families the photographs and films their memories deserve.
We know each other. We communicate. We aren’t meeting for the first time on your wedding morning figuring out who gets the light, where someone stands or whose shot takes priority.
Photography and cinema shouldn’t compete. They should complement one another.
Because these aren’t simply “deliverables.”
Someday a photograph may be how your children know what their grandparents looked like. A film may be how they hear a voice they no longer remember—the laugh, the movement, the hug, the way someone said your name.
COVID reinforced something we already believed:
Memories become valuable long before we realize they’re becoming memories.
No shortcuts. No trying to be everything to everyone. Just two teams staying in the lanes we’ve spent years earning—together.
The Regeti’s × Diego Stuart Films
Photography by photographers. Cinema by filmmakers. Created collaboratively.
Because your family deserves both done exceptionally well.
@diegostuartfilms
Some details deserve more than a quick photograph.
Wedding rings are one of them.
For many of our Indian-American and fusion couples, the rings are actually part of the blending of traditions that makes their wedding uniquely theirs.
The wedding ring as we commonly recognize it in America is deeply rooted in Western wedding tradition. The circle has represented continuity and eternity for centuries, and the exchange of rings eventually became one of the most recognizable symbols of marriage in Western culture.
And we love watching our couples fold that tradition right alongside everything else.
A mangalsutra.
Sindoor.
Thali.
Toe rings.
Sacred threads.
Garlands.
And these rings.
Different traditions. Different histories. All carrying meaning into the same marriage.
Which is also why we believe the rings deserve more than simply being placed into the obligatory overhead photograph with the invitation, shoes, perfume and jewelry.
Yes, we photograph that too.
But we also want this.
A photograph where the rings themselves become the subject.
Because years from now, these little pieces of metal will have lived an entire life with you. They’ll acquire scratches. Maybe a stone will be reset. A band may eventually be resized. They’ll travel, wash dishes, hold babies, build careers, weather difficult seasons and hopefully still be sitting on those same hands decades from now.
That makes this photograph considerably more sentimental than it may appear today.
Wedding photography isn’t just about proving everything was there.
Sometimes it’s about recognizing what deserves to be remembered on its own.
And these absolutely do.
@sjsevents @ritzcarltontysonscorner
There`s a moment at every wedding where all that planning, all that waiting, all that emotion just... lifts. You can see it on everyone`s face once the formalities are done and it`s finally time to celebrate. Tara`s brother was giving full Nick Jonas energy during his sister`s speech (we see you), and by the time the limbo came out, we`re pretty sure every generation on that dance floor took a turn. Nights like this are exactly why we love what we do. 🕺💃

The Mr. & Mrs., finally! 🎉
There`s just something about that first portrait as a married couple — you can feel the relief, the excitement, the "we actually did it" energy all at once. Fusion weddings hold a special place in our hearts because they bring together two families, two cultures, and two beautifully different stories into one celebration. Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do.
Have you been to a fusion wedding lately, or are you planning one? We`d love to hear about it in the comments — and if you`re looking for a photography team that understands how meaningful these blended celebrations are, send us a message. We`d be honored to help capture your day.
Something we`ve learned after 20 years of shooting South Asian and fusion weddings: knowing the name of a ritual doesn`t mean we understand it. Every family does things a little differently — the order might change, the significance might shift, the person leading it might not be who you`d expect. So before we ever pick up a camera, we ask questions. Lots of them.
What does this moment mean to your family? Who`s involved? What happens right before, and right after? Those answers help us be in the right place at the right second — not guessing, not scrambling, just ready. That`s how we capture the details that matter most: the ones you`ll want to point to years from now and say, "that`s exactly how it happened."
If you`re planning your wedding and want photographers who`ll actually take the time to understand your traditions, we`d love to chat. Send us a message or drop a comment about a tradition that`s special to your family!
