Westfield’s Marriott Dulles Washington in Chantilly located in the Northern Virginia area over the years has been the go to “Indian Wedding” venue for a lot of South Asians primarily because of their ability to know and understand the South Asian bride, we can appreciate that in any venue. Westfield’s also lends its clientele the comfort of knowing that should it rain on their wedding day they will still have wonderful photo opportunities on the inside. Luckily the heavens shined down on us and allowed for everyone to enjoy the barat outdoors, processing inside to the cool ballroom for their ceremony. I have to admit it is one great perk about our South Asian affairs! We as photographers equate it to those parents that have kids that play soccer and the parents that have kids that play basketball, us basketball mom’s are looking at those soccer mom’s thinking “Thank goodness our kids chose the indoor sport!”, not that we do not love soccer too.

What sticks out to me most about Shri and Deepak’s wedding is how very important it was to Deepak that he and Shri said “Hello” to every one of their guests, they wanted each of their guests to feel loved, wanted and seen, to know that their presence there meant a lot to both of them. It was so apparent that even a blind man could just feel it in his bones. Deepak’s sense of jazzy style and Shri’s bejeweled beauty came out in their reception attire while their Hindu ceremony honored both their North and South Indian heritage and traditions.
