Alexis + Ankit : Visionary Arts Museum – Baltimore, Maryland

A family full of weddings! But this time it is Alexis and Ankit’s turn to bring it on in style. A&A certainly did so through their beautiful colors of orange, purple and green. I just love the way it played out in their reception and worked so well within the Visionary Arts Museum.

Thankfully their wedding was a lot more warmer than their engagement session was in DC! It was great to be with familiar faces documenting their day as it unfolded. With these two life will always remain lively and full of fun as they both are full of love and happiness, seeing them together confirms the love they have for each other. A&A’s wedding album was probably one of my favorites till now with the colors and contemporary feel it gives off. Hope you guys love it!

This one broke my heart… and shook something deeper.

When I read about the tragic killing of Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, I felt grief —
but like so many brown and immigrant families, I also felt fear.

The man who took her life was brown.

And history has taught us exactly what happens next.
Backlash.
Suspicion.
Stereotypes.
Innocent families paying for one man’s evil.

So in today’s episode of SAWL, I opened up a conversation that so many have quietly held inside:

💔 Why tragedies like this hit brown families differently
💔 The fear of being blamed for something you had NOTHING to do with
💔 What it means to raise brown children in moments like this
💔 And why we must not let this spark more hate

If you’ve ever felt this fear — or if you’re hearing it for the first time —
you need to watch this one.

After a heartfelt conversation with close family friends this week, one truth stayed with us:

The world is changing — but adapting doesn’t mean abandoning who we are.
Multicultural families everywhere are trying to balance tradition, identity, and the pace of a world that never slows down.

Today over at The Regeti's & SAWL blog we unpack that with love, honesty, and a whole lot of understanding the world we know can evolve.
