A timeless wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Washington DC planned by Sara Muchnick Events. Captured by The Regeti’s — renowned DC photographers for all cultures and celebrations.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned in our nearly two decades photographing weddings, it’s that every love story deserves to be documented with the same heart, artistry, and care — no matter the culture, the faith, or the size of the celebration.

While many of our clients know us now as trusted South Asian and Fusion wedding photographers, the truth is that when we first began our journey, our weekends were spent photographing Catholic and Jewish weddings throughout the Washington DC and surrounding areas referred to as the DMV. Today, while much of our calendar fills quickly with South Asian Indian/Fusion celebrations, it’s not for lack of diversity in our inquiries — it’s simply that our Indian and fusion couples tend to book early (and fast!).

So, when we get the opportunity to step into a timeless, classic DC wedding like Alex and Jamie’s elegant day at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington DC, it feels like a retreat — a sweet reminder of how love, in every form, is universal.

A Washington DC Classic: The Ritz-Carlton on M Street & 22nd

The Ritz-Carlton Washington DC has always been one of our favorite venues for its quiet sophistication and flawless service. Erin Krobath and the team at the Ritz Carlton were simply stellar and hospitable from start to finish.

Nestled just off M Street and 22nd, this property blends cosmopolitan energy with an intimate sense of calm — a perfect backdrop for couples who want modern city elegance with five-star warmth.

From the moment guests walk through its marble-clad lobby, there’s a sense of understated grandeur. The ballroom, adorned with crystal chandeliers and golden accents, offers a versatile canvas for romantic, classic, or contemporary designs — and on this day, it reflected Alex and Jamie’s style beautifully: timeless, soft, and full of joy.

A Planner’s Touch: Sara Muchnick Events

P Alex Jamie Wed Oct 2025 0189

Behind every seamless wedding is a planner who truly understands the art of execution, and Sara Muchnick is just that kind of professional. We’ve known Sara for what feels like forever now, and each time we have the honor of photographing one of her events, we’re reminded why she’s one of DC’s most trusted wedding planners.

Sara’s calm demeanor, logistical brilliance, and eye for detail make her events not just beautiful, but effortless for everyone involved — from vendors to guests to the couple themselves. Her ability to blend timeless design with an organic sense of flow ensures that every wedding she touches feels both refined and deeply personal.

Watching Alex and Jamie’s day unfold under her direction was a joy — every transition was smooth, every detail intentional, and every emotion genuine.

From One Love Story to Another

Our connection with Alex and Jamie began in one of the best ways possible — through a referral from another incredible couple, Paige and Harrison, whose wedding we photographed at the Four Seasons Washington DC.

We often say that birds of a feather flock together, and in this case, that couldn’t have been more true. Both couples share impeccable taste, warm hearts, and a love for timeless imagery that tells a story without words.

We love when couples discover us through past weddings we’ve captured. There’s something so special about walking into a celebration already knowing we’re among friends — clients who’ve seen our work, connected with our storytelling, and trust us to capture theirs in the same way.

Our Approach — Always Intentional, Always Personal

Whether it’s a three-day Indian celebration or a one-day DC wedding, our approach never changes. We walk into every event with a keen eye, a calm heart, and the intent to honor your story.

We believe great photography isn’t about style alone — it’s about understanding people. It’s about knowing when to quietly observe and when to step forward and guide. It’s about anticipating moments before they happen and capturing them with depth and honesty.

Our goal has always been simple: to create images that feel alive — that let you relive your day, hear the laughter, and feel the love each time you open your album.

Why We Love What We Do

As photographers, we get to witness life’s most meaningful moments — joy that fills a ballroom, tears that happen quietly, and families coming together in the most beautiful way. Every couple teaches us something new, and every wedding, whether at the Ritz-Carlton DC, the Four Seasons, or under an open mandap at a vineyard, leaves us more inspired than the last.

To Alex and Jamie — thank you for letting us be part of your story. Your day was a perfect reflection of who you are: elegant, joyful, and full of light.

There is someone who greets the guests at almost every Hindu wedding we photograph before they ever see the bride or groom.

Lord Ganesha. ❤️

Today is Ganesh Chaturthi, and after more than two decades of photographing Indian and fusion weddings, Ganesha has become one of those details we instinctively look for.

Sometimes he’s grand and surrounded by flowers. Sometimes he’s a small murti quietly placed near the ceremony entrance. But his presence means something: new beginnings, wisdom, prosperity and the removal of obstacles.

And what bigger new beginning is there than marriage?

For our Indian-American and fusion families, we also think there’s something important in this: traditions don’t have to remain frozen in time to remain meaningful.

Celebrate them. Explain them to your children. Let grandparents tell the stories. Blend traditions from both sides. Add the birthday cake if you want to! There is no cultural purity test your family needs to pass.

Tradition survives because we continue carrying it forward—even when the next generation carries it a little differently.

And a Regeti family fun fact? Ganesh isn’t our only birthday today. Our son Brijesh turns 24 while spending his birthday in Peru in the Peace Corps! ❤️

He also has medical school applications out there in the universe, so given Ganesha’s reputation for removing obstacles… we’re just saying, a little birthday favor would be perfectly timed. 😉🙏🏽

Happy 24th Birthday, Brijesh. We love you tremendously and are so proud of you.

And Happy Ganesh Chaturthi from our fusion family to yours.

Different paths. Beautiful together. ❤️
And she's off! That train is doing ALL the talking. 😍 No one ever really sees the hours of hand-sewn lacework, the fittings, the careful steps down the aisle just to keep it perfect — but oh my goodness, when it unfolds like this? Pure statement piece. This is why we always hang back a beat before the ceremony starts — some of the best storytelling happens in the walk itself.

There's a whole story happening in this one shot. Tara's hands are just resting there, but you can feel the anticipation in them — and meanwhile everything else around her is full throttle, last touches happening, the clock ticking down to "it's time." This is the kind of moment we live for as photographers... the quiet inside the chaos, right before it all begins.

Have a getting-ready moment like this you still think about? Tell us in the comments, or DM us if you're planning your big day and want these details captured too. 💛 @tarab413

That look on their faces?! The anticipation is REAL as everyone waits on Tara to make her entrance. 😄 You can practically feel the countdown happening in this hallway — flower girls fussing with their dresses, the littlest ring bearer clutching his sippy cup like it's his most important job of the day, and one very serious best man giving us his best "are we doing this or what" face.

This is my favorite kind of chaos to photograph — the in-between moments right before the doors open, when a wedding party of tiny humans (and their very patient grownups) are doing everything they can to hold it together for just a few more minutes. Been shooting these hallway holding patterns for almost 20 years and they never get old.

What's your favorite pre-ceremony moment — the nerves, the giggles, or the "please don't cry" pep talks? Tell me below, or DM us to chat about capturing your own day. 👇 @tarab413

Tara and Birju got married... and then got MOVING! 🏃‍♀️💨 Fresh off their Hindu ceremony (still glowing in those gorgeous floral garlands!), they had zero minutes to spare before jumping into their Christian ceremony next. Two beautiful traditions, one incredible day, and a timeline tighter than Birju's sherwani buttons!

This is exactly why we love fusion weddings — the joy, the family energy, the sheer logistics of pulling off two ceremonies in one day. Tara and Birju, you crushed it. 🙌

Planning a multi-ceremony celebration of your own? Drop a comment or DM us — we live for this kind of beautiful chaos. @tarab413

The second it becomes official 😍 Birju's face here is EVERYTHING — so overwhelmed he couldn't even get his hand up, while Tara was already celebrating with the whole family cheering around them. LOVE IT!

The second the last phera ended, Tara obviously was given the intel about the sitting superstition — whoever sits down first "rules the household." You can see the exact moment it registers on her face 😂 Birju clearly wasn't messing around either, mid-scramble to beat her to the chair.

We love catching these split-second moments in between the more serious parts of the ceremony — the laughter, the teasing, the little cultural traditions passed down half-joking, half-serious. Tara embraced every bit of it, and it showed. This is exactly why we never put the cameras down between rituals. Recap of Abigail + Corey's Wedding
I know, I know — everyone wants candids these days, and we love those too. But look at this moment. Someone asked for this photo. Maybe it was mom. Maybe it was the bride herself, thinking ahead to the day this hangs above the fireplace.

Here's what decades of doing this has taught us: nobody remembers to ask for the posed shots in the moment. They're too busy living the day. That's our job — to know which ones matter before you do, and to make sure you have them when you're looking back in year 10, not just scrolling in year one.

Whose photo like this do you still have hanging up?

Tell us in the comments, or DM us if you're planning and want to talk through what shots matter most for your family.
