If I have learned one thing pushing into 2020 it is that life is way too short to consume yourself with things beyond your control. Ringing in 2020 I was beside the operating table with our oldest feeling the most desperation that I have possibly ever felt in my life as a mother. Our eldest was rushed in for an emergency c-section during which she began to hemorrhage, my heart at that point truly engaged itself in the amount of unconditional love that a parent possesses for their child. My emotions were so lost as they placed this little guy in my arms and I looked down at him as I sat at my little girl’s side, now a mother, just like that.
I have learned a lot this year, but the one thing that this little man taught me is that she’s capable. As much as she is my little girl and letting her be an adult has been one of the hardest things for me to take the passenger seat on, he’s proven to us all that she is quite capable.
