Monisha and Vikram kicked their festivities off with their sangeet and mehndi paired together in the evening prior to their wedding celebrations at the very hospitable and highly sought after resort ballroom at the Lansdowne Resort. It offers the privacy of a single event where most venues in the Northern Virginia area typically host to a minimum of two at the same time, we’ve seen even up to four! For most, it is not a bother but for some, the intimacy with family and friends is greatly welcomed. The sangeet while traditionally is a night where the ladies come together for an evening of song and dance is vastly changing in the United States and becoming more of a cohesion of the adorning of mehndi for guests to enjoy and join in on along with being able to welcome family and friends who have traveled locally, nationally and abroad to join the couple for their week of celebrations, blessing them as the two tie the knot and officially wed.
In the midst of all of this not many clients have time to spend with their vendors/event professionals – call them what you will – some take offense to being called vendors so I say that lightheartedly, back on topic not many take time out of what is already a super tight schedule to spend time, but after Monisha and Vikram’s engagement session we headed on over to Peri-Nando’s – many of ya’ll know that this is a favorite place to eat for the Regeti’s! We could have spent all night with these two but you can only eat so much chicken 🙂 Thus our night had to end but it was certainly just the start of a great friendship – truly how we felt come sangeet/mehndi night!
