RP Update

So you are wondering what has happened to The Regeti’s!!! Well we are here, catching up on a lot of lost sleep none the less however our little mini-vacation here has been packed full of wonderful moments as the holiday season approaches and the kid’s class parties kick into play and our parently duties have to kick into action we attend our oldest daughter Brittney’s chorus début… let’s just say it brought back some memories indeed of those chorus days when we would perform at the Mall! Oh my how happy am I that I am not the one on stage, but they did a great job and you could just tell the children were so very happy and proud of the time and effort that the group put into it they were awesome even though towards the end Santa Clause took over on the electric guitar and out did the chorus, but hey let’s just say thank goodness for photographs that tell a moment and a montage that can make the memory!

We also have been working very hard networking with some of the locals here in Warrenton getting to know the town and the people in it during our winter break and are feeling quite accomplished. This evening having shot Steve and Todd’s headshots, who are our neighbors at our Studio. Steve owns his own settlement firm here in Warrenton. We will be photographing Steve, his wife and 9 children this upcoming Saturday! We are so excited as they are all home schooled and have not recently had any photos taken in a while. His children range from 6 months to 14 years so it should be really fun!!!

And now for the update as many of you have been waiting… our bunny drama! Today the first two have finally opened their eyes as they are all beginning to hoppity hop around! Instinct is also kicking in as they are now hoping over to the potty area of the cage and going potty and some of their eyes aren’t even open yet! Okay so who can say these little critters aren’t just adorable! Although the drawback is that Momma isn’t so friendly these days and some say that she will return to her normal state once the bunnies stop nursing. I hope so, as we were really enjoying her. It looks like we are also getting quite attached to two of the little ones but inevitably will have to take the one’s that are still left back to the pet shop sometime right before Easter, hopefully they will be able to find them all happy suitable homes!

Alex was literally halfway out the door when we said "wait, get on that couch real quick." Two seconds in she realized lounging gracefully in a fitted gown is a lot harder than it looks in the movies 😂 But that`s the fun part of our job — catching the in-between moments, the laughs, the "wait how do I sit in this thing" moments. We got the shot, and honestly the memory behind it might be even better.

Was walking through a hotel lobby this past weekend and overheard a groomsman tell another one "Bet you can`t even tie a bow tie right on the first try!" Srinu and I just looked at each other, smiled, and stepped into the elevator like "but I can." Too bad we weren`t shooting their wedding... Anyone else have a hidden skill from years of wedding days? Fun fact: I have tied more bow ties than I can count. Getting ready rooms always need one extra set of hands, and somehow it ends up being me (yes, I tied Jamie's too). Alex and Jamie`s wedding day started with this gorgeous flat lay at the Ritz Carlton in DC — Jimmy Choos, the invitation suite, those rings tucked into red boxes that just pop against the marble. Planner Sara with SM Events pulled together every little piece so beautifully.



Honestly, we`ve been photographing details like this for almost two decades, and how couples want them captured has changed so much. Rings on a book, shoes in a window, invites styled with flowers — it`s become its own art form. We always wonder: are couples looking back at these images years later and still loving how their day was told? We think that`s the real test. There`s a whole ritual to henna: the patience, the skill of the artist, and that hope that it dries deep and dark because tradition says that means something good for the marriage.



I love catching these quiet in-between moments on getting-ready day — mehndi still fresh, your bridesmaids in search of the lotion in an effort to ease placing them on. Did you hide your fiancé`s name somewhere in your design? Tell me in the comments — I want to know if he spotted it right away! The embroidery, the buttons, the fabric selection that has to complement the bride`s outfit without competing with it - that`s real thought and real time. Hanging it on a wall for a pretty shot doesn`t tell that story though. What tells the story is Dad`s hands doing up those buttons, that quiet minute before everything gets loud. We always look for it.
