Vaishnavi and Avinash’s Engagement Session at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC

Vaishnavi and Avinash’s Engagement Session at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC

Venue Location: Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Washington DC

I can’t think of two names more destined to be together than these two! Honestly, when the inquiry came in, I told them first thing how much I loved how well they rang together—it seems it is something they hear all the time! It just shows how much their lives will sync with all future endeavors. I loved hearing how they met and some of their initial dates—forever, I will think of Vaishnavi every time I see a macaroon or a parking meter!

The Lincoln Memorial is a classic favorite for all clients DC native and those not, unfortunately currently is is under some renovations so there are some key things to know about DC when a client still wants to work in and around the area to get some good spots.

Vaishnavi and Avinash’s session happened right before their actual formal engagement party in Sterling, so it was perfect timing as we got to know the two even more.

Part of me believes that the naturalness of our sessions comes from the fact that with the Regeti’s, it’s not one-on-one with a photographer but a “double-date” with your photographers. You would not believe how much this contributes to the authentic nature of all the imagery we will capture at all your wedding events that we are with you!

XOXO

Sundays were made for slowing down… and for tuning back into you.

If the week has been full of opinions, expectations, or decisions that feel heavier than joyful, consider this your gentle reminder: you’re allowed to pause. You’re allowed to breathe. And you’re absolutely allowed to plan a wedding that feels like yours at its core.

This little moment from Rituals & Reflections always feels right on a day like today:

“Your wedding will ask many things of you — patience, presence, compromise…
but the one thing it will never take from you is your voice.”

So if today is your planning day, give yourself permission to approach it with clarity, calm, and softness.

And if you ever need a little guidance along the way… We’re right here. ✨

Rituals and Reflections with The Regeti's is available NOW on Amazon for purchase.

This one broke my heart… and shook something deeper.

When I read about the tragic killing of Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, I felt grief —
but like so many brown and immigrant families, I also felt fear.

The man who took her life was brown.

And history has taught us exactly what happens next.
Backlash.
Suspicion.
Stereotypes.
Innocent families paying for one man’s evil.

So in today’s episode of SAWL, I opened up a conversation that so many have quietly held inside:

💔 Why tragedies like this hit brown families differently
💔 The fear of being blamed for something you had NOTHING to do with
💔 What it means to raise brown children in moments like this
💔 And why we must not let this spark more hate

If you’ve ever felt this fear — or if you’re hearing it for the first time —
you need to watch this one.
