Tasha and Abhishek | Engagement Photos | University of Virginia

A UVA (University of Virginia) engagement session in the fall—this was a close call as we caught up with these two in Charlottesville just before catching our flight to Florida later that afternoon from Dulles—it was a close one :-), but all our engagement sessions are so important to each client’s wedding coverage outcome that we make it our top priority to have them done once they’ve signed their contract with us.

Tasha really wanted to catch the fall colors, and I think we just hit the tail end of it, fortunately, being able to catch some fantastic reds. We are glad that we all were able to make the schedules work to make this happen for the two of them. I can’t wait to see you guys again in Portsmouth this summer!

Living between two worlds isn’t easy — even after 30 years of it.

One thing I’ve learned being married into an Indian family is this:

For me, it was the outsider who somehow became the interpreter — the person South Asian brides turn to when they’re carrying more than they can say out loud.

It’s taken nearly 30 years inside this culture, loving it, learning it, laughing with it, and growing through it…
but I wouldn’t trade a single lesson.

For me, it was the outsider who somehow became the interpreter — the person South Asian brides turn to when they’re carrying more than they can say out loud.
